Samu/elle Striewski

Samu/elle Striewski is a graduate student in philosophy at Freie Universität Berlin and in gender studies at Université Paris VIII – Saint-Denis. They have published and presented research on topics such as queer/feminist solidarity, literature, and theory, as well as on (bi)sexuality, trans* and nonbinary identities, and the aesthetics and politics of drag. Their M.A. thesis in philosophy, supervised by Axel Honneth and Robin Celikates, examines contemporary queer social movements in Germany and assesses their political potential with reference to theorists of recognition (Honneth and Charles Taylor) and their critics, in particular Judith Butler and Nancy Fraser.
