Romuald Fonkoua is the Director of the Centre international d’études francophones at the University of Paris-Sorbonne. His work focuses on the cultures and literatures of Black Africa and the Antilles. He is the author of Essai sur une mesure du monde au XXe siècle: Edouard Glissant (Honoré Champion, 2002) and, most recently, Aimé Césaire (Tempus Perrin, 2013).
