I spoke with Doyle Hamm by telephone on Friday morning, February 23, 2018, and met with Doyle in person on Friday afternoon. Doyle is in good spirits, but in a lot of pain. He is limping badly and is extremely soar, but as always stoic and trying not to complain.
When I saw Doyle come through that back door in the visitation yard at Holman, I thought to myself, there’s a whole new definition of “death man walking.” I think the Governor of Alabama and the federal courts just created something we might call “wrongful execution.”
