Without even addressing any of Doyle Hamm’s situation with cancer or affording any kind of protection against a botched execution, without even a word to explain what it has decided and why it has decided to set an execution date, the Alabama Supreme Court has set an execution date for February 22, 2018 in Doyle’s case.
The one page order does not even address Doyle Hamm’s cancer or the problems of venous access-a complete outrage in a case in which there is medical evidence that the venous access for lethal injection will cause a cruel and excessively painful execution.
