October 2, 2017 | Counsel Submits Medical Report to Alabama Supreme Court


“I have not seen the exact protocol for venous access for lethal injection from the state of Alabama, but based on what I know from the David Nelson case, it is my opinion that the state is not equipped to achieve venous access in Mr. Hamm’s case,” Dr. Mark Heath states after a thorough examination of Doyle Hamm’s veins. On October 2, 2017, counsel submitted Dr. Heath’s medical report to the Alabama Supreme Court. The prognosis is bleak: Mr. Hamm has no usable veins for lethal injection and the procedure is likely to be bloody and botched. Dr. Heath’s medical report is here.
