He is a member of Columbia\u2019s\u00a0<a title=\"ICLS\" href=\"http:\/\/icls.columbia.edu\/\">Institute for Comparative Literature and Society<\/a>\u00a0as well as the Committee on Global Thought.<\/p>\n<p>Martin is a founding co-editor of the journal\u00a0<a title=\"Grey Room\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mitpressjournals.org\/loi\/grey\"><em>Grey Room<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>and has published widely on the history and theory of modern and contemporary architecture. He is the author of\u00a0<em>The Organizational Complex: Architecture, Media, and Corporate Space<\/em>\u00a0(MIT Press, 2003), and\u00a0<a title=\"Utopia's Ghost at Minnesota UP\" href=\"http:\/\/www.upress.umn.edu\/book-division\/books\/utopiaas-ghost\">U<em>topia\u2019s Ghost: Architecture and Postmodernism, Again<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>(Minnesota, 2010), as well as the co-author, with Kadambari Baxi, of\u00a0<em>Multi-National City: Architectural Itineraries<\/em>\u00a0(Actar, 2007). In 2012, Martin co-curated with Barry Bergdoll \u201c<a title=\"Foreclosed: Rehousing the American Dream\" href=\"http:\/\/www.moma.org\/visit\/calendar\/exhibitions\/1230\">Foreclosed: Rehousing the American Dream,<\/a>\u201d at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, for which he and Bergdoll also co-edited the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/store.moma.org\/books\/books\/foreclosed-rehousing-the-american-dream\/827-827.html?cgid=books-books\">exhibition catalog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>His work centers on histories of space, power, and the aesthetic imagination, particularly as mediated by technical infrastructures. Related areas of research include architecture and epistemology, globalization and cities, and media history.
