On November 28, 2021<\/a>, Doyle Lee Hamm died of lymphoma on Alabama’s Death Row at Holman Prison in Atmore, Alabama.<\/h3>\n

The New York Times <\/em>published an obituary for Doyle Lee Hamm<\/a>\u00a0on November 29, 2021<\/a>.<\/h3>\n

 <\/p>\n

On Friday, December 3, 2021<\/a>, Doyle Lee Hamm was laid to rest beside his mother and\u00a0father, Eula Mae Howell and Major Edward Hamm, his six older brothers,\u00a0James, Ted, O’Neal, Horace, Jimmy, and David, his two sisters,\u00a0Ruthie and Linda, his grandparents, and extended family, at the cemetery in\u00a0Barton, Alabama, in the beautiful northwestern part of the state, near\u00a0Muscle Shoals and the Tennessee Valley.<\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

At his burial beside his grave,\u00a0Doyle was remembered by his younger brother Danny, his grandniece\u00a0Dwan, and the many men and women who loved and supported him during his\u00a0more than three decades on Alabama’s death row, especially the men from the\u00a0Kairos prison ministry who visited Doyle monthly on death row since the\u00a0early 1990s, two of whom waited for him at the gallows on the night of\u00a0February 22, 2018.<\/h3>\n

It was a peaceful and restful moment that remembered Doyle’s spirit, mercy, and friendship, which touched so deeply so many\u00a0people, especially his friends on death row, those still alive today and\u00a0the many who were executed by the state of Alabama over the past decades.<\/h3>\n
