His current research engages in twentieth century and contemporary global history, but Professor Tooze has published broadly in the fields of modern German history and economic history. His recent book <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.penguinrandomhouse.com\/books\/301356\/the-deluge-by-adam-tooze\/9780143127970\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Deluge: The Great War, America and the Remaking of the Global Order<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> won the 2015 <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Los Angeles Book Prize <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">for history. \u00a0Adam Tooze is also the author of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.penguinrandomhouse.com\/books\/295490\/the-wages-of-destruction-by-adam-tooze\/9780143113201\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Wages of Destruction: The Making and Breaking of the Nazi Economy<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/us\/academic\/subjects\/history\/twentieth-century-european-history\/statistics-and-german-state-19001945-making-modern-economic-knowledge\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Statistics and the German State 1900-1945: The Making of Modern Economic Knowledge<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. Before joining the Columbia faculty this year, Professor Tooze taught at Yale University. \u00a0He recently co-edited the third volume of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/us\/academic\/subjects\/history\/military-history\/cambridge-history-second-world-war-volume-3\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cambridge History of the Second World War<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Professor Tooze has written and reviewed for <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Foreign Affairs<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Financial Times<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Guardian<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sunday Telegraph<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Wall Street Journal<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Die Zeit<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sueddeutsche Zeitung<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">,\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tageszeitung <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">and <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Spiegel Magazine<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">New Left Review<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">London Review of Books<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
