He is specialized in 20<sup>th<\/sup> century French philosophy (in relation with Continental philosophy), Critical Theory, social and political philosophy. He obtained the aggregation of philosophy in 1990. He completed his PhD in philosophy at University Paris-Nanterre devoted to Georges Canguilhem. His habilitation (postdoctoral thesis and postdoctoral lecturing qualification) was in 2004 at the University of Paris-Diderot entitled \u201cLa vie et les normes\u201d. He became \u201cMa\u00eetre de Conf\u00e9rences\u201d and then he was promoted to full Professor at the University of Bordeaux-Montaigne (2000-2015). He has been elected professor of social philosophy at the University Paris-Cr\u00e9teil (2015-2018). He spent several months as visiting professor in different universities (Qu\u00e9bec, Hamburg, M\u00fcnchen, Kyoto, Brussels).<\/p>\n<p>His main publications include <em>Vaincre nos peurs tendre la main<\/em> (Flammarion, 2018) <em>La fin de l\u2019hospitalit\u00e9 <\/em>(written with Fabienne Brug\u00e8re, Flammarion, 2017), <em>L\u2019insurrection des vies minuscules <\/em>(Bayard, 2014), <em>La philosophie comme contre-culture <\/em>(PUF, 2014), <em>Que faire de notre vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9\u00a0? <\/em>(Bayard, 2011), <em>Dedans dehors. La condition d\u2019\u00e9tranger <\/em>(Seuil, 2010), <em>Canguilhem et la vie humaine <\/em>(PUF, 2010), <em>L\u2019invisibilit\u00e9 sociale <\/em>(PUF, 2009), <em>Vies ordinaires vies pr\u00e9caires <\/em>(Seuil, 2007), <em>L\u2019esprit des sciences humaines <\/em>(Vrin, 2005), <em>La pens\u00e9e Foucault <\/em>(Ellipses, 2005), <em>Les maladies de l\u2019homme normal <\/em>(Vrin, 2004), <em>Canguilhem et les normes <\/em>(PUF, 1998). He won the high school prize of philosophy for his book <em>Courir. M\u00e9ditations physiques<\/em> (Flammarion, 2015).<\/p>\n<p>He was editor of the series Pratiques Th\u00e9oriques (PUF 2009-2018). He is co-editor of the series Diagnostics (Bord de l\u2019Eau).
