{"id":28286,"date":"2026-02-06T16:59:05","date_gmt":"2026-02-06T21:59:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.law.columbia.edu\/climatechange\/?p=28286"},"modified":"2026-02-18T10:46:26","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T15:46:26","slug":"call-for-presentations-second-conference-on-attribution-science-and-climate-law","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.law.columbia.edu\/climatechange\/2026\/02\/06\/call-for-presentations-second-conference-on-attribution-science-and-climate-law\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Presentations: Second Conference on Attribution Science and Climate Law"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><div>The Sabin Center for Climate Change Law and the Columbia Climate School are pleased to invite submissions for the Second Conference on Attribution Science and Climate Law, to be held at Columbia University in New York City on June 10\u201311, 2026.<\/div>\n<div>\n<p>This interdisciplinary conference will bring together researchers, scholars, and practitioners to examine the evolving field of climate change attribution science and explore its implications for law, litigation, governance, and policy.\u00a0 We are seeking proposals from physical scientists, legal scholars, economists, public health researchers, and others to share insights on this topic.\u00a0 This event will build upon the success of a <a href=\"https:\/\/climate.law.columbia.edu\/content\/attribution-science-and-climate-law-conference-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/climate.law.columbia.edu\/content\/attribution-science-and-climate-law-conference-2025&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1770397655560000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2bbxBWtgIUrgQQLm2V_Hdo\">prior conference<\/a>\u00a0on Attribution Science and Climate Law which was held at Columbia University in January 2025.<\/p>\n<p>We welcome submissions on the following topics and themes:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Scientific Advances:<\/b>\u00a0Event attribution, methods for quantifying human influence on extremes, epidemiological\/health attribution, and economic damage assessment.<\/li>\n<li><b>Legal &amp; Policy Applications:\u00a0<\/b>Use of attribution evidence in courts, international climate governance (Loss and Damage), human rights claims, and corporate liability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Prospective presenters should submit a proposal that includes the presentation title, presenter name(s) and affiliation(s), contact information, and a 250-350 word abstract to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:climateattributionconference@gmail.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">climateattributionconference@gmail.com<\/a>.
