Neither the police nor the Attorney General has taken action to investigate this state sponsored assassination. On September 20, 2020, Attorney General Leticia James said that her office would \u201cproactively release body-worn camera footage as part of our investigation into police-involved civilian deaths.\u201d<a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\"><sup>[2]<\/sup><\/a> Many police departments outside of New York City, including the officers in this case, do not wear body cams but have dashboard cameras.<a href=\"#_ftn3\" name=\"_ftnref3\"><sup>[3]<\/sup><\/a> The Attorney General\u2019s Office has said that they are working on a process for releasing dash-cam footage. It has been eight months since Matthew\u2019s murder. The footage from Matthew\u2019s death has not been released and since then, the office has been stonewalling the family\u2019s lawyers attempts to get any further information from the office such as the names of the police officers involved.<\/p>\n<p>We will no longer wait for local authorities to determine when videos should be made available. The Attorney General\u2019s Office and all police departments work for us, as residents. As their bosses, tax-payers, and the electorate, we are demanding that they release the footage immediately.
