Chief Judge Bowdre Prohibits IV Access Through Hands or Arms

At a closed hearing at the federal courthouse in Montgomery, Alabama, on Friday, February 16, 2018, Chief Judge Bowdre of the Northern District of Alabama made tentative rulings, indicating that she was planning to allow the execution of Doyle Hamm to go forward so long as the state of Alabama does not seek peripheral venous access through the hands or arms, but only through the legs or feet.

We did not find justice at law, but we found mercy, peace, and true justice at the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church after the hearing. And we will not stop fighting for true justice in Doyle Hamm’s case until “justice rolls down like water, and righteousness like an everflowing stream.”
