Yesterday, December 13, 2017, counsel for Doyle Hamm filed a §1983 civil rights complaint with the federal court in Birmingham, Alabama, challenging his execution by lethal injection. The complaint makes clear that the attempt to get venous access for purposes of lethal injection is likely going to lead to a botched and bloody mess. Mr. Hamm is bring the federal court to intervene since the Alabama Supreme Court did not even address his request for a proper protocol.
