August 15, 2017 | State of Alabama Files Reply Asking Alabama Supreme Court to Set Execution Date

On August 15, 2017, the state of Alabama filed a reply with the Alabama Supreme Court arguing that the fact that Doyle has cranial and lymphatic cancer should have no bearing on his execution, and that the Court should not delay execution at all even to ensure that his cancer would not be an obstacle to his execution. “There is no question that now is the ‘appropriate time’ to enter an order fixing Hamm’s execution date,” the state of Alabama urges. The full reply brief is available in the PLEADINGS tab.
