Apply to be a 1L Representative!

The Public Defender Students of Columbia Law School (PDSCLS) is the only student organization at Columbia Law dedicated to students who intend to pursue careers in any area of indigent defense, including criminal, appellate, civil, family, juvenile, and immigration. PDSCLS supports future public defenders by leading programming on public defense, creating workshops on 1L summer, 2L summer, and post-graduation employment, assisting students through every step of the application process, and fostering a supportive and strong public defense community.

1L Representatives work closely with the entire PDSCLS board to plan and execute events both at Columbia, and in the greater NYC area.

Applications are due Monday, September 25.
