Columbia's Native American Law Student Association

NALSA Recruitment Weekend

» Write a review.

Every fall CLS NALSA hosts a Native American Recruitment Weekend for native undergrads in the area interested in going to law school.  The event offers a chance for undergrads to learn about the law school application process, the decisionmaking process, life as a law school, the benefits of a law degree, and Columbia itself.  We aim to provide housing for all attendees by matching them with current students who will act as hosts.   The events in the past have included:

  • info session with the admissions office
  • current student panel
  • professors panel
  • alumni interaction
  • tour of the law school campus
  • a dinner with the moot court team
  • a visit to the National Museum of the American Indian
  • plenty of free time to enjoy the city and get to know other native undergrads

For info from past years, download the Weekend Flyer here, and the Registration Packet here.  Please don’t hesitate to reach out to the NALSA board if you have any questions about the event, or law school in general.  We are here as a resource, so please email

The event involves a large expense, so we welcome any firm or tribe support of this event.
