Cecilia Thumim Boal is a psychoanalyst, Theatre Director and Actress. In 1966, along with Augusto Boal, she participated in the Arena Theatre in São-Paulo, and engaged in performances across Brazil, Latin-America and Europe. In 1982 she received her psychology PhD at the Sorbonne University in Paris VII. In 2010, she founded the Augusto Boal Institute, designed to preserve and publicize the work of Augusto Boal, such as the new publications of his books, his theatre plays, his seminars and other public events.
