The Federal Clean Air Act has proven to have be a versatile and necessary legislation that has improved the US air quality since it was passed in 1970. Since the focus was originally on auto emissions, the legislation has great promise in promoting energy efficiencies through LEEDs building practices.

Let us not fail to realize as well the problems of developing and requiring the same erosion control measures in the piedmont and coastal regions- and mountain regions. Erosion control measure requirements statewide are no match for the steep topography and power of water coming off those western mountains. During a somewhat heavy rainstorm, the scene looks a bit like a tsunami wall of freshwater overtaking a little erosion control town; surely to the detriment of the native inhabitants.
